Collection Instructions: | Actively growing organism in pure culture in a sealed agar plate or slant. Specimen source required. | ||||

Unacceptable Conditions: | Mixed cultures or non-viable organisms. | ||||
Expected Results: | Organism identification. Vancomycin MIC by Etest: numeric value in ug/mL. Etest interpretation: Susceptible, Intermediate, or Resistant. | ||||

Wrap specimen container in absorbent material and place each specimen inside an individually sealed biohazard bag. Transport specimen overnight at room temperature. Ship to the Coralville location. | |||||
