Legionella cases on the rise

Iowa, like much of the U.S., is seeing a steady increase in reported cases of legionellosis, a serious type of pneumonia, commonly known as Legionnaires’ disease. In 2018, 63 confirmed cases of legionellosis were reported in Iowa, up from 35 cases in 2017.

CDC reports 127 cases of measles since Jan. 1

Five ongoing measles outbreaks in the U.S. have reached 286 confirmed cases since last fall, including 127 cases already this year. There are no known cases in Iowa.
