Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) is a viral respiratory illness caused by a coronavirus that was first reported in Saudi Arabia in 2012. Since that time, most of the confirmed cases have been in the Arabian Peninsula and a small handful of other countries. About 30 percent of the patients that contracted MERS died. |
