The Hygienic Laboratory recently welcomed its first Outreach Program Manager and Client Liaison. Lisa Rathjen of Bettendorf joined the Lab on July 7 to increase awareness of its public and environmental health services, education and research.

Rathjen came to the Hygienic Laboratory from the University of Iowa Diagnostic Laboratories where she was the Outreach Laboratory Client Liaison. Previously she was a pharmaceutical sales specialist and medical assistant.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in biology/pre-med from the University of Iowa, and has extensive experience working with clinical laboratories throughout Iowa.
