Lab brings CSI: Iowa and limnology to STEM conference

Using science to solve the mystery of a foodborne illness or to measure human impact on water quality were interactive sessions presented by Hygienic Laboratory scientists during the May 4 STEM Symposium. The University of Iowa hosted the event in conjunction with National Lab Day.

Limnologists and Miss Iowa team up for Girls Go Global

Nearly 1,200 young women gathered at the Coralville Marriott on April 24 to learn about ways they can improve the environment during the "Girls Go Global 2010 - It's Easy to be Green!" The Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois sponsored this second annual event, which included presentations by Hygienic Laboratory limnologists and Miss Iowa Ann Michael Langguth.
