Iowa history met the wrecking ball on March 11 when a crew directed by UI
Facilities Management began the estimated three-week demolition process of
Oakdale Hall. The 94-year-old building was the former home of the State Hygienic
Laboratory and, previously, the Oakdale Tuberculosis Hospital.
